The City of Goodland is currently accepting applications for highly motivated individuals to fulfill the position of Police Officer I or II. Goodland is a community of approximately 4,411 people covering 4.371 sq. miles, approximately 17 miles from the Colorado border. We are a progressive law enforcement agency that employs nine (9) full-time sworn police officers, two (2) part-time police officers and one (1) full-time civilian employee. Patrol duties include enforcing federal, state and local laws and ordinances, investigating crimes and accidents, and providing public assistance. Hours: Full Time
Salary: Patrol Officer starting base pay without full-time certification is $15.40. Patrol Officer starting base pay with full-time law enforcement certification is based on experience and qualifications. • possess a High School diploma or GED.
• have the ability to obtain a valid Kansas Driver’s License
• have no felony convictions, diversions or expunged records

Applicants will be required to pass a written test, physical agility test, and an oral interview board. Final candidates will be required to pass an extensive background investigation. A conditional job offer requires the applicant pass a psychological evaluation, physical and drug screen.
